A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the gelding.

LILY'S A STAR - broke shortly after the start after contacting the sulky wheel of MELTON MAGNATE losing considerable ground. Stewards lodged a protest against 12th placing being awarded under Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horses Regulation alleging the mare had broken in excess of 150m in the early stages. Driver M Holbrough did not contest the protest and LILY'S A STAR was disqualified by Stewards. Miss Holbrough (assisted by B Mowbray) admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that she drove carelessly when shifting ground and allowing her runner to strike the sulky wheel of MELTON MAGNATE resulting in her runner breaking and losing all chance. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty, the Adjudicative Committee suspended Miss Holbrough's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 3 December up to and including 6 December 2025 (2 days).

A post-race veterinary examination at the request of connections revealed a high heart rate and slow recovery with an endoscopy detecting a degree of mucous that may have affected the horse's performance. A veterinary clearance will be required prior to racing again.
