JAHI - crowded prior to racing into the first bend when outside runners had shifted inwards. Raced over track markers and broke entering the first bend losing ground checking and hampering trailing runners. Stewards questioned drivers C Hackett (JAHI), assisted by T Mitchell, F Schumacher (MAJOR BREAK) and H Orange (THE BEACH HOUSE) regarding firstly the crowding prior to racing into the first bend and secondly the breaking entering the first bend. After hearing from all parties and viewing the replays Stewards were unable to apportion blame to any one driver and took the matter no further.

When questioned regarding the performance driver S Thornley advised that despite working hard in the early stages he had been disappointed with the effort. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
