When questioned regarding the performance driver K Butt advised the gelding had raced greenly throughout causing her difficulty. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

When asked to comment on the improved performance trainer T Cross advised the gelding failed to handle the wet track at its last start after recovering well from a previous respiratory infection and added that today's race had been run to suit after receiving an economical run throughout.

SHADES OF ROBYN - weakened from the 700m. When questioned regarding the performance driver R Holmes advised he was disappointed and could offer no explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be showing signs of a respiratory condition. Stood down pending a veterinary examination including an endoscopic procedure prior to resuming.

KOTARE RIMU - driver B Munro admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Munro's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing tonight up to and including 13 July 2025 (4 days).

KOTARE RIMU - trainer R Houghton was issued a warning for being late to notify the gelding would be racing without the notified blinds. Held up rounding the final bend by a weakening runner. Lay inwards when being shifted outwards near the 250m and was awkwardly placed to the outside of the tiring CONAN and paced roughly after striking the sulky wheel of that runner.
