When questioned regarding the performance Driver Z Butcher stated that he had attempted to improve three wide approaching the 1400m but forward runners shifted out off the marker line in front of him. He further stated he then attempted to improve down the back straight the final time but had been unable to hold the back of LITTLE SPIKE and had raced wide thereafter. Mr Butcher also added that he had been more than satisfied with the performance given the 35m handicap and the manner in which the race had been run.
