The saddle slipped on the gelding after the race due to a clip on the breastplate breaking resulting in the gelding bucking on several occasions and falling to the track. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Driver C DeFilippi was uninjured in this incident. The breastplate was inspected and found to be in previously good condition.
