GEORGIA TROUBLE - checked and fell near the 700m dislodging driver G O'Reilly with GEORGIA TROUBLE escaping driverless. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a laceration on the right front cannon bone and superficial abrasions on the right shoulder and muzzle with the filly being treated by the on course Veterinarian. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance prior to resuming. Mr O'Reilly was examined by St John personnel and cleared of injury.

Stewards lodged a protest against this runner's 4th placing under Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horses Regulation alleging GEORGIA TROUBLE had broken in excess of 50m inside the final 200m. Driver M Heenan did not contest the protest and GEORGIA TROUBLE was disqualified by the Stewards.
