Stewards investigated a possible breach of the Push Out Rule near the 1600m after LETHAL SPEED had shifted ground outwards as LOUIS was improving wide on the track. After viewing the replays it was established that driver J Dunn (LETHAL SPEED) had commenced his outwards movement prior to LOUIS reaching his sulky wheel and no further action was required. Gave ground from the 700m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the gelding. Trainer M Smolenski advised he will have blood tests taken from the horse in the coming days and Stewards will follow up the results.
