After hearing from drivers and viewing the replays, Stewards were unable to apportion sole blame onto any one horse or driver however notwithstanding this, Mr McNally was issued a warning to make a greater effort to maintain a straight course throughout the run home in future.

Stewards questioned drivers B Orange (FOX TERROR) and K Cameron (WOODLEA DIAMOND) regarding this and after hearing their explanations it was established that WOODLEA DIAMOND had shifted inwards when clear however had been slow to react due to hanging outwards and when being restrained FOX TERROR had lay inwards which had contributed to the incident. After viewing the films which confirmed this, Stewards took the matter no further.
