FERNZ GOLDY - shifted outwards near the 800m and struck the sulky wheel of SARGENT BEST which punctured. Junior driver D Dolan, who declined assistance from a senior driver, admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that she drove carelessly when shifting ground and after viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $300.

JOAN'S RISING STAR - held up in the early and middle stages of the run home. Stewards questioned junior driver S Hill (assisted by M Williamson) regarding the tactics he adopted early in the run home when attempting to shift wider on the track resulting in his runner being held up. Mr Hill explained he had expected TREACHEROUS MISS who he had been trailing would shift into the passing lane which would allow him the opportunity to improve to the outside of that runner however TREACHEROUS MISS had only marginally shifted inwards resulting in JOAN'S RISING STAR becoming held up for clear racing room after committing to an outside run. After viewing the replays and considering his explanation, Stewards were satisfied that Mr Hill's tactics were not unreasonable in the circumstances considering it was a split second decision to shift outwards at the time.

After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty, the Adjudicative Committee suspended Miss Holbrough's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 9 June up to and including 21 June 2024 (3 days).

After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty, the Adjudicative Committee suspended Miss Holbrough's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 2 June up to and including 9 June 2024 (2 days).

After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Stewards and Mr May the Adjudicative Committee found the charge proved and imposed a fine of $250.

CHICAGO BEAR - weakened from the 900m hampering trailing runners. Hung inwards near the 300m striking several track markers. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate and slow recovery. Connections advised they will have blood tests taken from the gelding in the coming days and Stewards will follow up the results.

ALMIGHTY CLEVER - sustained a punctured sulky tyre near the 800m after being shifted wider on the track when weakening, simultaneous to the trailing CLASSIC MISSION shifting ground inwards. After hearing from drivers C Dalgety (ALMIGHTY CLEVER) and K Tomlinson (CLASSIC MISSION), Stewards were satisfied no one horse or driver was at fault and accordingly took the matter no further. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed no obvious abnormality.
