Held up final bend and early in the run home. When questioned regarding the performance driver S Tomlinson advised the gelding had been striking a knee in the early stages.

Driver J Buckland-Stevens admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that she used her whip with more than a wrist flicking motion leaving the final bend and early in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty, the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $300.

Attempted a marginal run to the inside of CHANGEFORTHEBETA near the 250m contacting that runner's sulky wheel and then struck the final track marker prior to the passing lane hampering DIDJASHOUTTHEBAR which had to be steadied and paced roughly for a distance. Driver A Edge was issued a warning for contacting a wheel and a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for contacting a track marker.

A false start was declared when LOVEYOURMOTHER broke in the score up checking a trailing runner. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Driver J Dunn elected to remain in his allocated barrier position for the restart.

HE'S TOUGH - paced roughly passing the 1300m after becoming awkwardly placed close to the sulky wheel of LOVEYOURMOTHER which was racing in the two wide line on its outside. After questioning drivers M Maynard (HE'S TOUGH) and A Edge (LOVEYOURMOTHER) and viewing the films, it was established that the field ahead of these runners had shifted outwards simultaneously to the pace easing and that Mr Edge had maintained his line during this incident until shifting in marginally due to the pace easing. Stewards took the matter no further other than to remind Mr Edge of his obligations to ensure inside runners are not placed in restricted room in similar circumstances.

After considering his explanation and viewing the replays, Stewards took the matter no further. Lay inwards at various stages during the running.
