Attended to by the on-course Veterinarian after being injured in the stable area following the race with the gelding being transported to the Canterbury Equine Clinic in the Horse Ambulance for further assessment. Stood down pending a Veterinary clearance prior to resuming.

SUNNY LOUIS - held up early in the run home. Driver J Stormont was warned for anticipating a run near the 200m resulting in him making contact with the sulky wheel of THE FOX. When assessing this incident Stewards took into consideration there had been no consequential effects as a result.

SHEZA GIFT - hung outwards passing the 900m and shifted up the track despite the efforts of driver N Williamson. Broke passing the 600m hampering trailing runners and losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.

SHEZA GIFT - broke near the 1900m losing ground. Broke again near the 700m losing all chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.

SHEZA GIFT - broke near the 400m hampering trailing runners losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.

Trainer A Hoffman advised Stewards on 20 June that MAD JACK has had its knees treated since last racing.

GEORGE ELIOT - Stewards questioned driver R Close regarding his lack of vigour over the concluding stages and after hearing his explanation issued a charge under Rule 868(3) alleging he failed to drive the mare out to the end of the race when having a reasonable chance of finishing 3rd. Mr Close advised he would be defending the charge and the hearing was adjourned by the Adjudicative Committee sine die.

JIMMY CARTER - broke racing into the first bend losing all chance.

SALLY LINDENNY - raced four wide from the 850m before weakening from the 500m. Stewards investigated a perceived breach of the Push Out Rule when JIMMY CARTER raced wider on the track near the 1500m. After viewing replays, it was established that driver K Green (SALLY LINDENNY) had commenced her outwards movement prior to JIMMY CARTER reaching her sulky wheel, accordingly no further action was deemed necessary. When asked to comment on the performance driver K Green could offer no explanation. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormality.
