The start was delayed due to ONE EL coming to the barrier out of position with the field being turned away to readdress the barrier. Driver J Curtin was issued a $200 Minor Infringement Notice for delaying the start.

ZOLTAN BOSCIK - tangled away. Authorisation of placings was withheld after driver L Whittaker wished to view replays of the start and after doing so it was determined that the gelding had not been denied a fair start. Mr Whittaker admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty, the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Whittaker's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 22 March up to and including 1 April 2026 (3 days).
