GEORGE ELIOT - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Broke near the 1500m hampering a trailing runner losing ground. Authorisation of 1st placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the mare had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation when in a break during the running. A post-race veterinary examination at the request of connections revealed lameness in the right front leg. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance prior to resuming.

Driver B Butt defended a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) alleging he drove carelessly when shifting ground resulting in GEORGE ELIOT being checked. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from all parties the Adjudicative Committee dismissed the charge.

A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Connections advised they will have blood tests taken from the mare in the coming days and Stewards will follow up the results.

MUSCLE MOUNTAIN - raced wide until reaching the parked position near the 2000m. Driver B Hope admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly when easing the pace in an abrupt manner near the 1900m hampering and checking trailing runners. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty, the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Hope's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 14 November up to and including 28 November 2025 (5 days).

MUSCLE MOUNTAIN - shifted wider and then lay inwards near the 250m when driver B Hope was activating gear placing an inside runner in restricted room with a trailing runner also being hampered. Mr Hope was advised to take greater care when activating gear in similar circumstances.

Attempted to pace near the 100m and trotted roughly over the concluding stages with the horse being unable to be fully driven out. Authorisation of 5th placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding was in the correct gait in the run home and at the finish of the race.
