Stewards questioned drivers C Thornley (B J HUNNICUTT) and S Thornley (NIKOLAI RAY) regarding this incident and after hearing from both parties, it was established that both runners had been racing on even terms and jostled for a short distance with neither driver found to be at fault.

Broke again leaving the final bend losing all chance with a side carrier strap coming adrift. Driver B Butt reported the gelding had cast a shoe near the 1500m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
