KOTARE RIMU - driver B Munro admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Munro's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing tonight up to and including 13 July 2025 (4 days).

KOTARE RIMU - trainer R Houghton was issued a warning for being late to notify the gelding would be racing without the notified blinds. Held up rounding the final bend by a weakening runner. Lay inwards when being shifted outwards near the 250m and was awkwardly placed to the outside of the tiring CONAN and paced roughly after striking the sulky wheel of that runner.

When questioned regarding the performance driver T Williams advised the race had not been run to suit after being left to race in the parked position throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

When questioned regarding the performance driver T Williams advised he was not disappointed after the colt had improved wide rounding the final bend and would derive benefit from its first run back after a spell. HEAVEN - lay inwards and struck a track marker rounding the final bend. Driver J Dunn advised the gelding had locked on one rein during the running and he would be recommending gear changes prior to racing next.

POISON IVY - over-raced when being restrained to obtain cover for a distance passing the 1400m. Continued to over-race placing driver O Thornley in some difficulty and as a result made contact with the back of the sulky of LARISSA BEAUDIENE and broke before falling near the 600m dislodging driver O Thornley checking SHADOW CREEK, HERE COMES MARTY, DOVER TERRACE and JOHN STEWART with driver M Williamson being dislodged from the sulky of JOHN STEWART. POISON IVY escaped driverless before being recaptured and was transported from the track in the Horse Ambulance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a head injury with the mare being treated before being referred to the Canterbury Equine Clinic for further assessment. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance prior to completing one trial to the satisfaction of Stewards before resuming. Driver O Thornley was examined by St John personnel and cleared of injury to fulfill her remaining driving engagement.
