When questioned regarding his tactics near the 1200m driver K Cameron advised he was reluctant to shift outwards given that the horse racing in the parked position had worked hard in the early stages when unsuccessfully challenging for the lead and was concerned this horse would weaken resulting in him having to improve wide on the track. After considering his explanation, Stewards were satisfied his tactics were not unreasonable in the circumstances and took the matter no further.

BRETT'S MATE - shifted outwards leaving the final bend briefly locking wheels with A FINE PATRICK which broke losing its chance. Stewards questioned drivers J Dunn (A FINE PATRICK) and K Cameron (BRETT'S MATE) regarding this matter where it was established that Mr Cameron had shifted outwards in a gradual and acceptable manner, however, A FINE PATRICK had hung inwards and proved difficult for Mr Dunn to shift wider on the track to accommodate the manoeuvre. After viewing the replays and considering both drivers explanation Stewards could not apportion blame on either driver and took the matter no further.

TI AMO BELLE - held up final bend. Driver W House's foot made contact with the hind leg of the mare early in the run home after activating the removable deafeners. After viewing the replays and speaking with Mr House, it was established that his right foot became entangled in the removable deafeners cord when attempting to activate them and when returning his foot to the sulky footrest, it had slipped and made accidental contact with the mare's hind leg. After considering all the evidence, Stewards determined no further action was warranted.
