BRONSKI - trainer D Williamson was issued a warning for presenting the gelding to race without the notified anti choke device which was fitted prior to the start. Weakened from the 900m. When questioned regarding the performance driver C Thornley was unable to provide any explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding had suffered an atrial fibrillation. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance including the results of an ECG prior to completing one satisfactory trial before resuming.

Driver L Dobbs admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the early stages. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty, the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $300. Mr Dobbs also admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly by shifting inwards shortly after the start when insufficiently clear of FERNZ GOLDY which was checked. Briefly hampered by an inside runner early in the home straight. When questioned regarding the performance Driver W House stated that he was satisfied with the run given the midrace effort to get handy in what was the gelding's second raceday start.
