Mr Dunn advised he elected not to shift wider near the 1300m due to the solid tempo of the race and that the gelding is unsuited to racing parked. Mr Dunn further advised that after obtaining clear racing room early in the run home the horse had failed to respond to his urgings and had only battled over the concluding stages. Stewards noted Mr Dunn's comments.

Driver C DeFilippi admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly at this stage of the race and after viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty, the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $300.
