After considering his explanation, Stewards issued a charge under Rule 869(3)(g) alleging he drove in a manner capable of diminishing his chances of winning by continuing to challenge for the lead and failing to give his horse sufficient respite. Mr O'Connell defended the charge and after viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Stewards and Mr O'Connell, the Adjudicative Committee found the charge proved and Mr O'Connell's driver's licence was suspended from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 29 May 2026 (6 days).

After hearing evidence from Stewards and Mr Clark and viewing the replays, the Adjudicative Committee found the charge proved and Mr Clark's driver's licence was suspended from the conclusion of racing tonight up to and including 1 May 2026 (8 days). A post-race veterinary examination revealed slight lameness in the right hind leg and a high heart rate.
