Locked sulky stays briefly with DASHER passing the 100m. Authorisation of 2nd placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the mare had not gained an advantage when striking a track marker near the 180m.

SALVO - junior driver J Harrington admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly leaving the final bend when allowing his runner to strike the sulky wheel of RACEY KRUSA which punctured. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $250. When questioned regarding the improved performance Mr Harrington advised the mare had appreciated the return to mobile racing and a drop in class from recent starts.

Hampered by a breaking runner rounding the final bend. Driver T Bamford was warned for allowing his whip to protrude outside the sulky confines when having difficulty activating the removable deafeners in the run home.

CAPPAHA - over-raced middle stages. Contacted by a dislodged track marker passing the 900m and continued on in a break for a considerable distance. Struck track markers passing the 650m when in a break. Stewards lodged a protest against 3rd placing being awarded under Rule 870(3)(4)(d) and the Breaking Horses Regulation alleging the gelding broke in excess of 150m and failed to lose ground while in a break. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Stewards and driver R Holmes, the Adjudicative Committee upheld the protest and CAPPAHA was disqualified from 3rd placing.
