A REASON TO FIGHT - broke for a considerable distance racing into the first bend and lost ground after striking the sulky wheel of OLIVER which shifted inwards when insufficiently clear. Authorisation of 4th placing was withheld until Stewards had viewed the replays and spoken to driver S McNally who confirmed his horse had broken as a result of suffering interference. After considering the matter which was evident on the replays, Stewards exercised discretion in accordance with the Breaking Horses Regulation by not disqualifying the horse from the race.

Broke passing the 1300m losing ground. Hampered by a weakening runner passing the 700m. Trotted roughly in the run home.

BULLIT TRAIN - trotted roughly in the early stages losing ground. Again trotted roughly rounding the final bend losing ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer T McMillan advised he would be making gear changes prior to racing next.
