HERB - improved wide from the 600m. When asked to comment on the performance driver R Close stated he was disappointed with the way the gelding had finished the race off. Trainer R Todd advised he would have blood tests conducted on HERB in the coming days which Stewards will follow up the results.

GLENGARRY MOONLIGHT - over-raced passing the 1300m when being restrained to obtain cover. Raced keenly through the middle stages. Stewards questioned driver T Chmiel regarding his decision to shift outwards leaving the final bend instead of waiting for the available run in the passing lane. After considering his explanation, Stewards issued a charge under Rule 869(3)(f) which Mr Chmiel defended, alleging he drove improperly when shifting wider on the track instead of waiting for the available run in the passing lane which enabled MIKI BENNETT (T Williams) to improve to his inside and obtain clear running. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Stewards and Mr Chmiel, the Adjudicative Committee dismissed the charge.

LORD MUDRICK - shifted outwards in the run home when being driven out hampering an outside runner. Driver C Butt admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Butt's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing tonight up to and including 2 June 2024 (2 days). Mr Butt defended a breach of Rule 869(4) and the Home Straight Regulations alleging he failed to maintain a straight course in the run home resulting in MIKI BENNETT being hampered. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Stewards and Mr Butt, the Adjudicative Committee upheld the charge and suspended Mr Butt's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 2 June up to and including 9 June 2024 (2 days).

After viewing replays and considering submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $250.

Stewards spoke with driver C Thornley regarding this who advised that when he urged the horse with the whip the gelding ducked in and contacted the sulky wheel of HACKSAW RIDGE and broke in consequence losing its chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.

Driver C Wigg defended a breach of Rule 869(4) and the Home Straight Regulations alleging she failed to maintain a straight course in the run home resulting in ARIZONAWILDCAT being placed in restricted room and hampered near the 200m. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions from Stewards and Ms Wigg, the Adjudicative Committee dismissed the charge.

EDDIE OSEI - over-raced and became awkwardly placed close to the sulky of SWEET SPIRIT and broke near the 2300m hampering trailing runners. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Authorisation of 3rd placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation during the running. Driver W House advised he would be recommending gear changes in an attempt to settle the gelding.
