Broke again passing the 400m losing all chance. Driver M Hurrell reported that the filly had been striking its knees and made abnormal breathing noises during the running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to have some abrasions to its near fore and a high heart rate however had recovered well. Trainer W McDonald advised that he would give some consideration to sending HEAVENS ARE HEAVING for a spell.

A post-race veterinary examination at the request of connections revealed the gelding to be showing signs of colic and was treated by the on course Veterinarian.

Driver B Butt admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty, the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Butt's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 7 January 2026 (3 days).
