MOUTON CADET - struck track markers racing into the first bend when attempting to improve along the marker line simultaneous to JUKEBOX GYPSY being eased inwards by CRUSHER LOU resulting in MOUTON CADET being briefly crowded. OFF THE EDGE - weakened from the 500m. When questioned regarding the performance trainer/driver A Edge advised that despite the gelding having to work hard through the middle stages in the parked position he had been disappointed with the effort. Mr Edge was issued a warning for using his whip free of the rein on one occasion near the 1100m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Mr Edge advised he will have blood tests taken from the gelding in the coming days and Stewards will follow up the results.

GOORAMBAT ART - raced wide early. Hung inwards racing into the first bend and locked wheels with FOVEAUX GAMBLER despite the efforts of driver B Wilmott. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Stewards investigated a possible breach of the Push Out Rule near the 1400m. After questioning drivers B Wilmott (GOORAMBAT ART), D Roberts (MOTOR MOUTH), A Edge (OFF THE EDGE) and reviewing the replays, it was established MOTOR MOUTH had shifted wider before GOORAMBAT ART reached its sulky wheel. It was also confirmed OFF THE EDGE moved outwards behind MOTOR MOUTH while racing to the inside of GOORAMBAT ART without forcing that runner wider. After considering the drivers' explanations, Stewards concluded no breach of the Push Out Rule had occurred and took no further action.

HUGO - raced wide early. Shifted outwards rounding the final bend checking outside runners. Stewards questioned drivers S Thornley (HUGO), G O'Reilly (TROUBLESHOOTER) and S Ottley (TACT TEENA) regarding this incident and after hearing their evidence issued Mr Thornley with a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) and the Shifting Ground Regulations alleging he drove carelessly when shifting outwards near the 400m checking TROUBLESHOOTER and TACT TEENA with TACT TEENA breaking and losing all chance. Mr Thornley (assisted by K Barron) defended the charge and after viewing the replays and hearing evidence from all parties, the Adjudicative Committee found the charge proved and Mr Thornley's driver's licence was suspended from the conclusion of racing on 25 April up to and including 30 April 2025 (2 days).

Driver R May defended a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) alleging he drove carelessly in this incident. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Stewards and both drivers the Adjudicative Committee dismissed the charge.

AUNTIE DEB - Stewards questioned driver H Orange regarding the manner he drove rounding the first bend when restraining to allow SWEET RAINE to improve ahead of him. Mr Orange explained that he was of the opinion both JUKEBOX GYPSY and TEDDY THE TERROR would improve forward to the lead which would leave him in the parked position so felt his best option was to restrain to follow SWEET RAINE to obtain cover, however this did not eventuate when that runner also improved forward to lead near the 1100m. After considering his explanation Stewards were satisfied his tactics were not unreasonable in the circumstances and took the matter no further.
