BAZOOKA - slow to leave the pre-race formation and paced roughly in the score up resulting in the gelding being out of position at the start. Placed on the unruly for future mobile starts. Driver S Ottley reported the gelding had paced roughly and raced lethargically throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed minor lameness in the left hind leg. HARRISON JOHN - held up early and middle stages of the run home. Awkwardly placed close to the sulky of HADRON COLLIDER near the 100m when held up for clear racing room with the gelding's hind leg making contact with the sulky wheel of that runner.

A rein came adrift from the horse's bit near the 2200m resulting in the gelding shifting inwards checking IT'S TOUGH before shifting to the inside of the track and being captured by the Clerk of the Course. Co-trainers H & A Cullen admitted a breach of Rule 864(2)(d) in that they failed to ensure the rein was securely fastened so as not to come adrift and the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $200.

OHOKA CONNOR - Driver T Williams advised the gelding had cast the off fore shoe in the early stages. When questioned regarding the performance Mr Williams stated that he was disappointed given the drop in grade but expected that the gelding would derive some benefit from the run.

WHO'S DELIGHT - checked and broke near the 600m when racing between DYNASTY and VESSEM losing all chance. Stewards questioned drivers B Butt (DYNASTY), J Dunn (WHO'S DELIGHT) assisted by Senior driver J Dunn and O Thornley (VESSEM) regarding this incident. After viewing the replays and considering their explanations, Stewards were unable to apportion blame onto any one horse or driver and took the matter no further.
