Stewards spoke to drivers C Butt (LORD MUDRICK), B Orange (LORTON VALE) and S McNally (HARRY BELAFONTE) regarding this incident where it was established that LORD MUDRICK had been crowded between MIRACLE MEMPHIS which was racing to its outside and had lay inwards simultaneously to LORTON VALE becoming awkwardly positioned to the wheel of HARRY BELAFONTE. After hearing from drivers and viewing the replays, Stewards were unable to apportion sole blame onto any one horse or driver however notwithstanding this, Mr McNally was issued a warning to make a greater effort to maintain a straight course throughout the run home in future.

Stewards questioned Mr Cameron regarding his decision not to improve into the three wide line prior to being covered by outside runners near the 500m. Mr Cameron advised that LOUIS is best driven when saved for one run and that the gelding had been under pressure for a short distance just prior to runners improving outside him. Mr Cameron further advised he believed the favoured LOGAN ROCK which he was following would improve into the race giving him the opportunity to shift into clear racing room in the run home however LOGAN ROCK had not improved as well as expected resulting in him being held up. After considering his explanation and viewing the replays, Stewards were satisfied his explanation was not unreasonable in the circumstances and took the matter no further.

LOGAN ROCK - driver A White admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty, the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr White's Amateur Driver's licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 16 August 2026 (6 weeks).

LOGAN ROCK - hung inwards at various stages throughout. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home. Driver R Close reported he did not activate the sliding blinds in consequence. When questioned regarding the tactics adopted inside the final 400m, Mr Close advised that he had attempted to shift wider rounding the final bend however the horse had hung inwards causing him considerable difficulty and he had been unable to come to the outside of the track despite his efforts. Stewards accepted Mr Close's comments.
