HARRISON - raced wide early. Shifted outwards near the 850m and locked wheels with DESTINY DANCE (S Ottley) checking and hampering trailing runners. Driver J Morrison defended a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) alleging he drove carelessly when shifting outwards abruptly locking wheels with DESTINY DANCE causing interference to SHARDS MATRIX and THE REAL MCCOY. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Mr Morrison and Stewards, the Adjudicative Committee upheld the charge and Mr Morrison's driver's licence was suspended from the conclusion of racing on 23 May up to and including 2 June 2024 (3 days). Held up throughout the run home.

TRUMP CARD - raced wide early until being restrained to the rear of the field near the 1400m. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room throughout the run home and paced roughly near the 50m. Stewards questioned driver B Orange regarding the tactics he adopted during the running. Mr Orange explained that after attempting to improve forward in the early stages he had been caught wide so he elected to restrain his runner to the rear of the field due to the fast tempo. Mr Orange added that due to the speed of the race not decreasing in the middle stages and with runners in advance of him in the running line not maintaining their positions he elected to shift inwards near the 1200m to save ground. Mr Orange added the gelding had paced roughly at various stages resulting in him having to steady his runner. After considering his explanation Stewards were satisfied his tactics were not unreasonable and took the matter no further.

GLENGARRY MOONLIGHT - over-raced passing the 1300m when being restrained to obtain cover. Raced keenly through the middle stages. Stewards questioned driver T Chmiel regarding his decision to shift outwards leaving the final bend instead of waiting for the available run in the passing lane. After considering his explanation, Stewards issued a charge under Rule 869(3)(f) which Mr Chmiel defended, alleging he drove improperly when shifting wider on the track instead of waiting for the available run in the passing lane which enabled MIKI BENNETT (T Williams) to improve to his inside and obtain clear running. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Stewards and Mr Chmiel, the Adjudicative Committee dismissed the charge.

LORD MUDRICK - shifted outwards in the run home when being driven out hampering an outside runner. Driver C Butt admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Butt's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing tonight up to and including 2 June 2024 (2 days). Mr Butt defended a breach of Rule 869(4) and the Home Straight Regulations alleging he failed to maintain a straight course in the run home resulting in MIKI BENNETT being hampered. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Stewards and Mr Butt, the Adjudicative Committee upheld the charge and suspended Mr Butt's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 2 June up to and including 9 June 2024 (2 days).

Driver T Williams admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he shifted ground inwards near the 1000m when insufficiently clear of BETTER BE WATCHING which was checked. After viewing replays and considering submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $250.
