Mr Smith was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.

After questioning drivers P Davis (KINK) and A Cameron (PHILADELPHIA FILLY) and viewing the replays, it was established that WRIGGLES RUFUS which was racing in advance of KINK had shifted outwards marginally simultaneous to PHILADELPHIA FILLY shifting inwards marginally resulting in KINK being placed in restricted room and breaking. After considering the matter, Stewards were unable to apportion blame to any one horse or driver and accordingly took the matter no further.

Driver C Butt admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Butt's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing tonight up to and including 2 June 2024 (2 days). Mr Butt defended a breach of Rule 869(4) and the Home Straight Regulations alleging he failed to maintain a straight course in the run home resulting in MIKI BENNETT being hampered. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Stewards and Mr Butt, the Adjudicative Committee upheld the charge and suspended Mr Butt's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 2 June up to and including 9 June 2024 (2 days).

WESTAR MOLLY - raced three wide through the middle stages. Placed in restricted room when weakening near the 400m when SHERWOOD MAGGIE momentarily shifted ground outwards. Stewards spoke with drivers H Douglas (WESTAR MOLLY) and J Cox (SHERWOOD MAGGIE) where it was established that SHERWOOD MAGGIE shifted outwards from the running line to obtain clear racing room simultaneous to JENNY GUMP shifting inwards from the three wide line resulting in WESTAR MOLLY being tightened for racing room and hampering a trailing runner. Mr Douglas confirmed there were no consequential effects to his runner. Notwithstanding this J Cox was issued with a warning for the manner he shifted ground.

WESTAR MOLLY - raced wide early until reaching the parked position near the 1500m. When asked to comment on the performance driver J Dunn advised that the mare had worked hard early to obtain that position, however notwithstanding that he was disappointed with the effort.
