TI AMO BELLE - held up final bend. Driver W House's foot made contact with the hind leg of the mare early in the run home after activating the removable deafeners. After viewing the replays and speaking with Mr House, it was established that his right foot became entangled in the removable deafeners cord when attempting to activate them and when returning his foot to the sulky footrest, it had slipped and made accidental contact with the mare's hind leg. After considering all the evidence, Stewards determined no further action was warranted.

Driver B Butt defended a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) alleging he drove carelessly when shifting ground resulting in GEORGE ELIOT being checked. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from all parties the Adjudicative Committee dismissed the charge.

A post-race veterinary examination at the request of connections revealed a poor recovery and the filly was treated for signs of colic by the on course Veterinarian. Stewards' footage confirmed the filly had cast the near hind shoe when blundering and broke in consequence. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality other than confirming the filly had lost the near hind shoe.

When questioned regarding the performance Driver R May stated that after having worked hard early he felt it was his best option to hand up when challenged by THE MOONSTONE given the 2700m distance of tonight's event. Mr May further advised that he felt the filly had gone to ease up for several strides when improving to the inside of the breaking FATHER BARRY passing the 150m before finishing on strongly over the final stages.
