KOWHAI NUGGET - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home. Shifted outwards near the 100m checking an outside runner. Junior driver C Hackett (assisted by R Close) admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that she drove carelessly when shifting ground when insufficiently clear of ANYTIME AT ALL which was checked. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Miss Hackett's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 15 April up to and including 22 April 2025 (3 days).

PLAYING WITH STARS - shifted outwards leaving the final bend and again near the 250m locking wheels with TAKE THE DEAL resulting in both runners being pulled up prior to the winning post. Junior driver S Hill (assisted by S Tomlinson) admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly when allowing his runner to improve into a gap early in the run home when no run existed resulting in his horse locking wheels with TAKE THE DEAL with both runners losing all chance. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Hill's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 1 September 2024 (2 days).

After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Hill's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 16 August 2024 (3 days).

BRONSKI - trainer D Williamson was issued a warning for presenting the gelding to race without the notified anti choke device which was fitted prior to the start. Weakened from the 900m. When questioned regarding the performance driver C Thornley was unable to provide any explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding had suffered an atrial fibrillation. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance including the results of an ECG prior to completing one satisfactory trial before resuming.
