Stewards lodged a protest against 3rd placing being awarded under Rule 870(5) alleging the gelding was lapped on at the finish by TI AMO BELLE and GOLD BULLION. Connections did not contest the protest and TU TANGATA was relegated to 5th placing by the Stewards.

After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Stewards and Mr Nairn the Adjudicative Committee found the charge proved and Mr Nairn's driver's licence was suspended from the conclusion of racing on 23 May up to and including 6 June 2025 (4 days).

After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Nairn's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 13 April up to and including 30 April 2025 (5 days).

When questioned regarding his tactics near the 1200m driver K Cameron advised he was reluctant to shift outwards given that the horse racing in the parked position had worked hard in the early stages when unsuccessfully challenging for the lead and was concerned this horse would weaken resulting in him having to improve wide on the track. After considering his explanation, Stewards were satisfied his tactics were not unreasonable in the circumstances and took the matter no further.

FOUR WISE WOMEN - raced in restricted room after 100m when runners either side shifted ground marginally, locking stays with both HOLLY HIGHLANDER, which had been dictated inwards, and IT'S SO EASY, which shifted ground sharply after locking stays, resulting in the mare breaking and losing considerable ground. After hearing from drivers P Davis (IT'S SO EASY) and T Williams (FOUR WISE WOMEN) and reviewing the films, Stewards were unable to attribute blame to any one horse or driver.
