ALWAYS ON SALE - fractious and slow to leave the pre-race formation and was out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver B Barclay. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Raced fiercely passing the 1500m causing driver B Barclay considerable difficulty being awkwardly placed on the back of TOBY TOM B and broke briefly before being shifted wider on the track for safety reasons. A warning was also placed on the racing record of the gelding. Weakened final bend hampering trailing runners.

Shifted up the track despite the efforts of driver B Orange rounding the final bend when weakening hampering a trailing runner. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate and slow recovery and signs of muscle tie up. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.

When questioned regarding the performance Driver W House stated that he was satisfied with the run given the midrace effort to get handy in what was the gelding's second raceday start.

SOPHIA BROMAC - hampered by a breaking runner near the 300m. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home. Stewards questioned Junior driver J Dunn (assisted by S Tomlinson) regarding the manner he drove between the 500m and the 400m of particular concern was his decision not to shift ground outwards when clearance existed prior to being covered by outside runners. Mr. Dunn advised that runners had improved rapidly with his mare causing him some difficulty at this point. He further added that shortly after he was hampered by a breaking runner and had this not occurred a run would have been available . After hearing from all parties and viewing the replays, Stewards advised Mr. Dunn not to leave his drives open to query in future when assessing this Stewards took into account Mr. Dunn's inexperience.
