BRETT'S MATE - held up final bend. When questioned regarding his tactics near the 1200m driver K Cameron advised he was reluctant to shift outwards given that the horse racing in the parked position had worked hard in the early stages when unsuccessfully challenging for the lead and was concerned this horse would weaken resulting in him having to improve wide on the track. After considering his explanation, Stewards were satisfied his tactics were not unreasonable in the circumstances and took the matter no further.

DREAMS PAT - raced three wide from the 650m. When questioned regarding the performance Trainer/Driver D Balle stated that after being slow early adding to his 20m handicap that he had then had difficulty making up ground when forced wide rounding the final turn.

DREAMS PAT - broke near the 850m when competing for a position in the running line with VIRGINIA CLOWERS and lost all chance. Stewards questioned Drivers D Balle (DREAMS PAT) and D Butcher (VIRGINIA CLOWERS) in relation to this incident and after viewing the replays and hearing the relative evidence blame could not be solely attributed to either driver or horse so no further action was deemed necessary.
