MANAKAU BLAZE - raced four wide after the start until improving to the three wide line near the 600m and continued to race wide thereafter. Weakened early in the run home. Stewards questioned driver B Ford regarding his decision not to restrain to obtain cover in the three wide line to give his horse some respite when an opportunity existed on two occasions in the early and middle stages. After hearing his explanation Stewards issued a charge under Rule 869(3)(g) which Mr Ford defended, alleging he drove in a manner capable of diminishing the chances of his horse winning by electing to remain racing wide before weakening. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Stewards and Mr Ford the Adjudicative Committee found the charge proved and Mr Ford's driver's licence was suspended from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 4 April 2025 (8 days).

After viewing the replays driver K Tomlinson did not contest the protest and DELLA'S FELLA was disqualified by the Stewards.
