Miss Ottley advised her runner had raced greenly when attempting to shift ground outwards to obtain clear racing room and placed no blame on Mr Close's runner shifting inwards. Accordingly Miss Ottley declined the opportunity to lodge a protest. Notwithstanding this, Mr Close was advised to make a greater effort to maintain a straight course in the run home in future.
