ULTIMATUM - when questioned regarding the improved performance trainer M Purvis advised the gelding had raced without luck in recent starts and had appreciated a return to a standing start today.

TIDY KIWI - hampered and made contact with the sulky of ULTIMATUM and broke briefly losing ground when there was an easing of the pace near the 900m. A post-race veterinary examination at the request of connections revealed the gelding to be showing signs of colic and was treated by the on course Veterinarian.

After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty, the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Butt's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 7 January 2026 (3 days).

When questioned regarding this incident driver R Close advised he became awkwardly placed due to runners ahead of him weakening sharply and not yet having sufficient advantage over outside runners. Mr Close added the gelding had paced roughly throughout.

PICK IT UP - broke and shifted up the track rounding the first bend losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare. Trainer B Waldron advised he would be making gear changes prior to the horse racing next.

PICK IT UP - fractious prior to the start. Broke at the start and shifted outwards abruptly severely checking WILLOW VALLEY losing all chance. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts and stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion from a standing start prior to resuming.

CARRERA VAMOS - broke briefly at the start. Attempted to pull up and broke just prior to the finish resulting in checks to CEE WHATABET and PICK IT UP. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stewards lodged a protest against 4th placing being awarded under Rule 870(5) alleging the mare was lapped on at the finish by KENSINGTON MIKE. Connections did not contest the protest and CARRERA VAMOS was relegated to 5th placing by Stewards.
