A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate and slow recovery. Trainer J McDermott advised he would be adding an anti choke device to the gelding's gear for its engagement on Sunday.

Stewards questioned driver A Edge regarding the tactics he adopted in the early stages when electing to shift inwards to race on the marker line. Mr Edge explained that the horse had previously disappointed when racing in the parked position so he elected to shift inwards to obtain cover.
