Amateur driver D Roberts (assisted by M Williamson) admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he shifted inwards when insufficiently clear of LILY'S A STAR and WATERHOLES ROAD racing into the first bend resulting in WATERHOLES ROAD being checked. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty, the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Roberts' Amateur driver's licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 3 January 2026 (1 month).

DRAGON POWER - lay outwards rounding the final bend and when shifting ground near the 350m contacted the sulky wheel of RAKERO LIGHTNING. Driver H Douglas, who declined the assistance of a senior, was issued with a warning for the manner in which he drove at this stage of the race. When assessing this Stewards took into account there were no consequential effects. Had some difficulty obtaining clear running throughout the run home. Driver H Douglas advised he would be recommending gear changes.

RAKERO LIGHTNING - connections reported the mare would be racing in season. Had to be steadied near the 900m when there was a slight easing of the pace. Raced wide from the 850m.

When questioned regarding the perceived improved performance trainer S Armour advised that gear changes, a better draw and training well in the lead up had resulted in today's forward showing, adding she was not surprised by the effort.
