CLAP FOR THE WOLFMAN - broke for some distance as the start was effected losing ground and causing a disadvantage to THE ELITE ATHLETE and IM ALL IN by forcing them to race wide into the first bend. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.

IM ALL IN - broke shortly after the start and shifted in checking BECKER before losing all chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed IM ALL IN to have a small laceration to the near hock which was treated.

After viewing replays and considering submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $250.

Driver J Abernethy elected to defend a breach of Rule 869(7A)(a), namely that he failed to ensure no contact was made with a track marker. The matter was adjourned at Mr Abernethy's request and is to be heard by the Adjudicative Committee prior to the first race on the second day of this meeting.

Was then held up rounding the final turn and during the early stages of the run home. Again became awkwardly placed and contacted the sulky wheel of RUN MASON RUN passing the 75m. Stewards were satisfied that the contact on each occasion were attributable to the racing dynamics at the time and that Driver B Wilkins had not driven carelessly nor contributed to the incidents in any culpable manner. Accordingly, no further action was taken.
