When spoken to regarding the performance Driver S Abernethy stated the gelding was contacting its wheel discs causing it to over-race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.

Mr Holmes admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
