BROTHER JOHNSON - severely checked shortly after the start and made heavy contact with the sulky of PIRAYAS losing all chance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the off fore which was treated.

BROTHER JOHNSON - lay in throughout the run home despite the efforts of Driver D Butcher placing SCOOTS in restricted room over the final 50m with that runner being checked just after the winning post. When questioned Mr Butcher advised that he had been unable to relieve the pressure to SCOOTS over the final stages due to NIAMH which was racing to his outside having followed him down the track. A warning was placed on BROTHER JOHNSON's racing manners.

Authorisation of 4th placing was withheld until Stewards had viewed the replays and were satisfied the gelding had not gained an advantage when racing inside track markers.
