VINCENTS GIRL - the near side hopple connecting strap broke on the final turn. This gear was inspected and found to have been in satisfactory condition. It was noted that the ear plugs were not fitted prior to the commencement of the score up although the removable hood was intact. When questioned Trainer N Chilcott advised that she had been unable to fit the ear plugs under the removable hood after the mare become fractious.

WOTSONYAMIND - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination due to not having raced for a considerable period of time and was cleared to start. Lay in throughout the score up and was back from position at dispatch. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners. Continued to lay in at various stages. Raced wide for a distance during the middle stages. When questioned into performance driver M Purdon was of the opinion the gelding would derive benefit from tonight's race.

When questioned regarding the performance driver B Butt advised the gelding had worked hard in the early stages and raced greenly passing the 1200m when attempting to improve to the lead resulting in the horse having to race parked with the effort taking its toll. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery.
