CAPTAIN KOBE - Stewards investigated a possible breach of the Push Out Rule near the 1700m when this runner raced wider on the track after shifting out off the back of TASI AHNAU. It was established that TASI AHNAU had shifted up the track when being steadied near the 1750m prior to CAPTAIN KOBE reaching its sulky wheel. These two runners then locked wheels briefly approaching the 1500m.

Driver P Young admitted a charge under Rule 869(2) Whip & Rein Regulations in that he used his whip on one occasion with more than a wrist flicking motion early in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicator suspended Mr Young's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing tonight and up to and including 15 May 2026 (1 month).

HE'S TOUGH - the hood of the removable deafeners became detached shortly after the start. Raced keenly in the parked position through the middle stages. Weakened abruptly from the 500m. When questioned regarding the performance driver A Poutama advised that despite the gelding over-racing through the middle stages he could offer no tangible excuse for the disappointing run. A post-race Veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormality. Stewards will follow up the recovery of HE'S TOUGH with connections prior to the second day.
