Date / Club / Race Desc / Barrier Draw in brackets and horse time
UPSTAGE - broke at the start and shifted out marginally hampering outside runners but soon settled. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners.
COLIN MCBRIDE - lay inwards and paced roughly near the 450m after hitting a knee hampering trailing runners before being taken up the track by driver H Orange when continuing to pace roughly. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
COLIN MCBRIDE - over-raced middle stages. Hampered near the 450m. Held up final bend and early in the run home. Stewards questioned driver H Orange regarding the fact that despite being held up in the early stages of the run home he did not activate the removable deafeners when obtaining clear racing room passing the 75m. Mr Orange advised that he felt it was better not to activate the gear as when he had driven the horse previously and activated the deafeners he believed the gelding had not finished off its race as strongly as he would have wished. Stewards noted Mr Orange's comments, including that he would not be recommending a gear change and reminded him of his obligations to ensure in similar circumstances in the future the gear is activated.
COLIN MCBRIDE - raced wide early and locked wheels with an inside runner rounding the first turn losing ground. Paced roughly near the 1100m when crossing to the lead.
FRANKIE - commenced to weaken near the 700m and sustained a punctured sulky tyre when contacted by the trailing COLIN MCBRIDE near the 600m. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormality.
