Again paced roughly on several occasions before losing contact with the body of the field passing the 1000m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the gelding.

SECRETS ABOUND - paced roughly early. Shifted out near the 200m when Junior Driver K Denifostova was activating the removable deafeners before being corrected shortly after. Ms Denifostova (assisted by J Dickie) admitted a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) in that she drove carelessly when activating gear in this incident. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $200.

When being corrected, this runner became awkwardly placed close to the over-racing DIXIELAND DELIGHT which was improving to its inside despite the efforts of Driver A Poutama resulting in the contact occurring. After viewing the replays and hearing from Driver J Dickie (ADJOURNMENT), Stewards determined that no further action was required other than to note the circumstances.
