BROTHER JOHNSON - lay in throughout the run home despite the efforts of Driver D Butcher placing SCOOTS in restricted room over the final 50m with that runner being checked just after the winning post. When questioned Mr Butcher advised that he had been unable to relieve the pressure to SCOOTS over the final stages due to NIAMH which was racing to his outside having followed him down the track. A warning was placed on BROTHER JOHNSON's racing manners.

Stewards lodged a protest under Rule 870(5) against this runner's 4th placing. Connections did not contest the protest and HIGHVIEW ROCKN ROLL was relegated to 5th placing by Stewards. Junior Driver O Gregory (assisted by J Abernethy) admitted a charge under Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion rounding the final turn. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Gregory's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on the 27 March up to and including 31 March 2026 (2 days).
