Driver D Butcher did not contest the protest and ENZO was relegated to 5th placing by Stewards. Mr Butcher reported that the near side sliding blind failed to activate.

Driver P Young admitted a charge under Rule 869(2) Whip & Rein Regulations in that he used his whip on one occasion with more than a wrist flicking motion early in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicator suspended Mr Young's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing tonight and up to and including 15 May 2026 (1 month).

AUNTY ROSE - locked wheels with HE'S TOUGH passing the 1800m for a considerable distance then broke losing considerable ground. Stewards spoke with junior drivers H Orange (assisted by S Abernethy) and C Hackett (assisted by A Poutama) regarding the incident in question. Each driver was given the opportunity to provide their account of the circumstances and after considering the submissions from all parties and carefully reviewing all available race footage, it was established that AUNTY ROSE shifted outward whilst under slight restraint at a point where HE'S TOUGH was improving rapidly to its outside. Stewards were satisfied that the circumstances were a result of racing dynamics rather than any carelessness from either driver and subsequently, no action was deemed necessary.

Stewards held an investigation into the incident. After hearing the relative evidence from Drivers C Hackett (MIKI MIRAGE) and E Johnson (PROVISEUR) and viewing the replays blame could not be solely attributed to either horse or driver with Stewards taking the the matter no further other than to note the circumstances.

When questioned regarding the performance, Mr Dalgety advised the gelding had peaked on its run after working hard through the middle stages and he expected the horse would derive considerable benefit from its first start back from a spell.
