When questioned regarding the performance driver S Ottley advised that racing parked from the 1800m when fresh up from a spell may have taken its toll on the gelding. HIGHVIEW ROCKN ROLL - trotted roughly throughout the run home and was unable to be driven out fully by driver E Johnson.

HIGHVIEW ROCKN ROLL - raced keenly middle stages. Broke near the 300m hampering a trailing runner losing all chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.

HIGHVIEW ROCKN ROLL - broke for a considerable distance racing into the first bend losing all chance and was retired from the race. A protest was lodged against 4th placing being awarded under Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horses Regulation alleging the mare had broken in excess of 150m. Connections did not contest the protest and HIGHVIEW ROCKN ROLL was disqualified by Stewards. Junior Driver E Johnson was spoken to for the manner in which she retired the mare from the race. A warning was placed on the racing manners of the mare.

Stewards lodged a protest against this runner's 4th placing under Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horses Regulation alleging that the mare broke in excess of 50m inside the final 200m. The connections did not contest the protest and the mare was disqualified by Stewards.

JOHNNY WHO - when questioned regarding the performance Driver C Hackett stated that the gelding had felt flat throughout and would probably gain benefit from the run in what was its first race for 4 weeks.

JOHNNY WHO - raced wide from the 1400m. When questioned regarding the performance Driver A Poutama advised that the gelding had dropped the bit when left wide without cover. Trainer S Doody advised he was disappointed with the performance and would give consideration to freshening this runner. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.

After hearing the relative evidence with Drivers C Hackett (KEEP IT KLASSY), S Abernethy (KAIPAKI JACK) and viewing the available replay footage Stewards were unable to attribute blame solely to either driver and took the matter no further.
