HILLBILLY BLUES - Driver T Herlihy was questioned regarding the manner in which he shifted ground entering the first turn when improving away from the marker line which resulted in BRIENNE appearing to race wider on the track briefly. Mr Herlihy stated that he felt that he had commenced his outward shift prior to BRIENNE reaching the parked position and after viewing the replays Stewards took the matter no further on this occasion. Lay out throughout the run home despite the efforts of Mr Herlihy.

CASTANA - broke at the start losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners. Weakened final turn. Driver T Hanara reported that she sustained a punctured sulky tyre near the 500m. It was established that HIGH ENERGY had contacted the wheel when CASTANA shifted in marginally entering the turn. Stewards were satisfied that neither driver were solely at fault and took the matter no further.

When questioned regarding the performance, Driver Z Butcher advised that he was forced to make an earlier move than intended due to the horse in the parked position weakening, and as a result, his runner was unable to finish the race off strongly. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
