Dr Chin explained that he had encountered difficulty when attempting to follow THE MOONSTONE which had become fractious and as a result turned into line in a position to the inside of BRAVEHEARTHIGHLANDER which had drawn unruly 1. After considering the matter Stewards extended leniency on this occasion given the circumstances and took the matter no further other than to remind Dr Chin of his obligations.

Mr Butcher explained that the gelding was having its first start in seven months and had experienced difficulty negotiating the bends, particularly the final bend. He further stated that the gelding had galloped during a recent workout, which made him cautious about placing the horse under undue pressure until it had fully balanced up in the run to the finish.
